LADIA
What is hidden behind all the hours of sweat and hard work required for a female athlete to reach perfection? Abused by constant struggle for flawlessness and external approval, Ladia (Sandra Kramerova) denies herself as human, but the exhaustion and her human limits finally catch up to her. A solo dance fight inspired by female "superheroes" (La)ra Croft and Na(dia) Comaneci. Ladia is a woman who dedicates all her effort to win the game, where the only game is to win over herself.

About dance, Fireflies and the end of the world as we know it
is a dance-and-spoken word presentation linking the poetics of Dance to the long, present and ongoing crisis of Modernity. Modernity is here understood as the three-hundred-years-long period covering the western obsession with design, production and management of waste. Text and movement are interwoven to build up a multi-sensorial performance, both intellectually engaging and visually stimulating. The text of the lecture – based on recently published essays on sociology, aesthetics, philosophy, and dance theory – suggest that to prevent the Western world from yet another cyclical crisis of Modernity, we need to reinvent ourselves. In order to do that, we need imagination. Dance is the paramount example of uselessness. All that sweat... for what? Dance can trigger imagination. In its elusive openness, it invites us to connect. Therefore, Dance can change the world. This piece can change the world.
